Administration

The overall responsibility for effective and efficient operation of police services in Yuba City is tasked to Administration. The Chief of Police, with the assistance of his senior commanders, engagement in participative management, gaining guidance from members of the public, City Council and City Manager, sets the Department on a strategic focus.

The Office of Professional Standards, Budget/Records Management, Legislative Coordination and the COMPSTAT Accountability Program, which focuses our resources and holds each member of the Department accountable for contributing to the overall safety of our community, also fall under Administration.

With an annual budget of $13,000,000, and 90 fulltime employees, the Police Department is the largest of all City Departments.

Photograph is of the "Freedom Wall", which is located along the public access way to the Police Administrative Section. Life-size copies of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and Bill of Rights are prominently displayed along with photographic representations of major events in United States and world history. The United States Flag displayed is used for ceremonial purposes at the department. It is flown on occasions such as a Chief of Police Change of Command. The Flag was a gift from the family members of the late George B. Garcia, the Department's 10th Chief of Police (1956-1977).
