Mrs. Pavey is the Operations Support Manager for the Department.  In such capacity, she has overall managerial responsibility for the Communications Center, Records, Budgetary Accounting and business operations of the Agency.  Additionally, she is the Media Relations Director for the Police Department, coordinating all press inquiries and information releases. The Operations Support Manager is a Division Level command appointment with a corresponding rank equivalency of a Police Lieutenant. Along with her day-to-day responsibilities and certifications, Ms. Pavey also meets current and proposed training requirements for Incident Command and General Staff positions under the National Incident Management and Incident Command System organizational structure. 

Mrs. Pavey joined the Department in 1999 as the Executive Assistant to the Office of the Chief of Police. In that capacity, she acted as the administrative liaison with members of the public as well as local, state and federal officials with business concerning the Agency. Her collateral responsibilities included being the protocol official for visits by dignitaries and producer of the Agency's weekly television show, Yuba City Police Beat.

Mrs. Pavey's past employment history encompasses that of Social Worker with the County of Yuba and Public Safety Dispatcher with the Yolo County Communications Center.

Mrs. Pavey is a member of the United State Air Force Reserve, entering as an enlisted Intelligence Specialist then becoming a commissioned officer, currently holding the rank of Major. She now has responsibility as the Operations Resource Manager and Squadron Executive Officer for the 312th Airlift Squadron at Travis Air Force Base. The 312th is part of our nation's largest air mobility component.

She has served in support of Operations Desert Shield, Desert Storm, Somalia, Bosnia, Panama, Operations Noble Eagle/Enduring Freedom, in support of our mission in Afghanistan and most recently in Operation Iraqi Freedom.

Mrs. Pavey holds undergraduate degrees in General Science and Communications. Additionally, she holds a Bachelors Degree, with honors, from Humboldt State University in Biology and a Masters Degree from the United States Air Force Air Command and Staff College in Military Operational Art and Science. In conjunction with her numerous military awards and recognitions, Mrs. Pavey is also the recipient of the Chief's Employee of the Year Award, Police Unit Commendation and Police Individual Achievement Ribbon with Oak Leaf Cluster.

Mrs. Pavey is married to Col. David Pavey, USAF. They make their home in Yuba City with their son Ryan.
