Lieutenant Lincoln Eden began his law enforcement career in 1992 when he was hired as a police officer with the Yuba City Police Department. He promoted through the ranks attaining positions of Field Training Officer, Detective, Sergeant, Sergeant in charge of Investigations and then to his current position of Police Lieutenant. Lieutenant Eden also holds the ancillary duty as the departments Training Manager along with his duties as a District Watch Commander for the department.
Under Lieutenant Eden’s command of the Investigations Unit, the unit received the 2010 Chief’s Outstanding Unit of the Year Award and Unit Commendation with Oak Leaf Cluster. During his tenure as the Investigations Supervisor, the Investigations Division solved four cold case gang related homicides from 2004 and 2005 culminating in the arrest of six individuals. Lieutenant Eden was instrumental in managing the resources and coordination of this endeavor while continuing other active investigations of the unit.
Lieutenant Eden attended Sacramento City College then transferred to The University of Redlands where he earned his Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science. Additionally, Lieutenant Eden is a graduate of the POST (Peace Officer Standards and Training) Supervisory Leadership Institute (SLI). While in college, Lieutenant Eden also participated in four years of intercollegiate basketball and he continues his commitment to fitness by road cycling and previously on a competitive basis.
Lieutenant Eden is a lifelong resident of the Yuba-Sutter area and has been married for 18 years to the former Shelly Lay of Marysville. They are the proud parents of two children, Chandler and Cameron.
