The insignia situated at the top of the dedication plaque is the symbol of the City of London Police.  It is of interest to note that this British Police symbol is the only one that is devoid of the word Police.

The City of London is the 1 square mile region in the heart of Metropolitan London.  The geographic region dates back to the Medieval Period.
