REQUESTS FOR DEPARTMENT PATCHES

The hobby of collecting various police department shoulder patches and insignias has become a world-wide fascination.  In an average month, our Department receives approximately fifty requests for such items from both within the United States and around the world.

As a result of security concerns and a resultant loss of proper control over items which represent the police service, we rarely honor patch requests.  In those very infrequent occasions when we do agree, it is usually to another governmental entity for inclusion in a museum setting or the patch is secured to a plaque in a manner which prevents its improper use by others.  In all cases it is accompanied by a letter of possession authorization issued by the Chief of Police.
